Athena Blue specialises in unlocking and scaling finance for ocean conservation and restoration projects. We are closing funding gaps by building the investable pipeline of ocean and blue carbon projects. We do this by preparing ocean initiatives to connect with appropriate financing sources, from impact investors to corporate partners and grant funders.

Our Approach
We are unlocking finance for high-potential ocean projects, with particular focus on blue carbon initiatives (mangroves, seagrass, salt marshes) that deliver climate and biodiversity benefits. We prepare these projects for carbon market participation and impact investment. This approach scales their reach and effectiveness.
We respect the expertise of restoration and conservation leaders. We complement this with financial readiness components that increase funding success. SDG 14, Life Below Water is the least funded of all the SDGs. We exist to fix that.
